Church life includes not just Sunday worship, but active involvement in the family of God. While some auxiliaries and ministries require pastoral assignment or election, members can freely join the ministries listed below.
Involvement in the ministries of the church gives each member an opportunity to serve and helps us to build a better sense of being members of the church family.
Licentiate Rickey C. Dennis, Advisor
The Acolyte Corps aids in worship by lighting and extinguishing the chancel candles and by serving as aides to the Pastor during worship.
The Career and Guidance Ministry

The Career and Guidance Ministry supplements the efforts of guidance counselors in the schools and works with students in the congregation on career choices, college opportunities, and scholarship opportunities.
The Carrie R. Grady Women’s Missionary Society

The Carrie R. Grady Women’s Missionary Society, which is divided into Units by age and special interest, is the official Missionary Organization of the AME Church.

The Lay Organization

The Lay Organization is the AME Church’s ministry for the laity of the church to learn more about the church and to unite in Christian service. It is open to all full members of the church.

The Sons of Allen

The Summer Enrichment and Vacation Bible School Ministries

The ministry combines the familiar Christian tradition of Vacation Bible School with an ongoing summer program for elementary and middle school students. The ministry includes learning opportunities, recreation, arts and crafts, mentoring, guest speakers, and field trips.
The Teen Spiritual Summit Ministry

The Teen Summit Ministry reaches out to teens of the community for mentoring and sharing the discussion of issues facing today’s youth and Christian fellowship.
The Youth Usher Board

The Youth Usher Board is open to all children and young people of the church.
The Young People’s Division

The Young People’s Division (YPD) is the youth auxiliary of the Women’s Missionary Society and is open to all young people of the church 25 years of age and younger. The YPD sponsors activities to enable our young people to grow spiritually and in knowledge of the church. All young people of the church should be members of YPD. The YPD is a part of the District, Conference, Episcopal District and Connectional Young People’s Division.
The Worship Ministries
The Morris Brown Mass Choir

The Morris Brown Mass Choir is composed of all adult choirs of the church. The choir sings on First Sundays.
The Joshua Generation

A ministry of church members between the ages of 18 and 45. This ministry meets for brunch every first Saturday following first Sunday. Workshops and seminars are presented in the areas of Methodism, Church leadership, A.M.E. Church Polity and History. Visits to historic churches are scheduled.
Young Men of Distinction
This ministry has been organized to reach young men between the age of 12 and 22. Workshops, activities and seminars will be presented to give our young men helpful information in the areas of peer pressure, etiquette, social skills, current events and other critical matters that will help them to mature into productive Christian men.
Young Women of Elegance
This ministry has been organized to reach young women between the age of 12 and 22. Workshops, activities and seminars will be presented to give our young women helpful information in the areas of peer pressure, etiquette, social skills, current events and other critical matters that will help them to mature into productive Christian women.
