Sometimes called Passion Sunday, Palm Sunday commemorates the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Its role is to put the Holy Week into perspective: It begins a gradual progression from the celebration of waving palm branches to the gloom of the Crucifixion. For more information about Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem read: Matthew 21:1-11, Mark 11:1-11, Luke 19:28-44, John 12:12-19.
