Class Leaders’ Day pays honor to a connectional unit of the AME Church, the Class Leaders’ Council. The Class System is a basic organizational unit of the African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church that connects each member of the local church. Since the beginning of the A.M.E. Church, the Class System has played a vital role. Richard Allen, the founder and first bishop of the church, adopted the Methodist doctrine, including the Class System at the first A.M.E. General Conference.
For more on Class Leaders’ Day, please read this observation of the occasion from former pastor, the Rev. Joseph A. Darby. For more information about how we worship here at Morris Brown AME Church, we invite you to visit our What to Expect page.
End time is approximate.
